A few years ago, a large law firm contacted me and asked me to send them referrals for the kinds of cases they worked on. I liked their presentation, so I started sending a few proposed clients to them. Well, they were met with a very abrupt paralegal who hung up on them in the first 3 minutes of talking. So, I stopped referring those cases to that firm. This strengthened my belief that, as a lawyer, I need to answer my own telephone. I am easy to reach and easier to talk to.
