Meredith Morrow Illa was born in Fall Church, Virginia in 1974. She moved to Kansas in 1979. She received a Bachalor of Arts in History with Distiction from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1999. She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law in 2004. While attending law school, Meredith Morrow Illa was a staff member on The Urban Lawyer and was a staff member and a Note and Comment Editor on the UMKC Law Review. She published a Note entitled "Missouri Business Owners Beware: Premises Liability Risks Expand," in the UMKC Law Review Spring 2003 Issue, Vol. 71, No. 3, p. 747. She further received the Tierra Farrow Award for Outstanding Women Law Students. After passing the Missouri Bar, Meredith Morrow Illa moved to Northeast Missouri and has been practicing law in this area ever since.
