U.S. Fighters Win 13 Medals at Canadian Open


American athletes captured 13 medals in the senior divisions on Saturday at the Canadian Open in Montreal, including four gold medals.

Female lightweight Amber Means (Sugar Land, Texas), male finweight Tashi Sherpa (Astoria, N.Y.), male heavyweight Christian Suh (Astoria, N.Y.) female featherweight Diana Lopez (Sugar Land, Texas) all won gold medals in their respective divisions.

Silver medalists were female flyweight Charlotte Craig (Murietta, Calif.) and male featherweight Tal Moriah (Houston, Texas), male lightweight Nir Moriah (Houston, Texas) and female welterweight Andie Jane Phinney (Gloucester, Mass.).

Bronze medals were won by male featherweight Steven Lin (Chatham, N.J.), female welterweight Tasha Pruter (Blue Springs, Mo.), female featherweight Tanya Paterno (Katonah, N.Y.), male flyweight Blaise Castagnetti (Mililani, Hawaii), and junior male fin/flyweight Hans Pruter (Blue Springs, Mo.).

Tasha Pruter Fighting Norway at the 2010 U.S. Open in Las Vegas, NV. Tasha won two rounds, first vs Swedan and second vs Norway. She was defeated by Canada in the quarter finals.
Tasha is currently ranked number 51 in the world by the World Taekwondo Federartion the governing body for the Olympic Sport of Taekwondo.
She is the second world ranked USA fighter in the female Welter weight class.
The 2010 U.S. Open had 6 Pruter's Sport Taekwondo Athletes compete. We brought home two Gold and two silver Medals.
Danny Henthorn won a Gold in Forms and Gold in sparring in the Ultra 50 and up division. Joe Witowski won the Silver in the 50 and up sparring division. Madison Richardson won silver in the 10-11 girls heavy weight. Alexius Thomas won two rounds and was defeated in the quarter finals one round short of a medal. Hans Pruter was defeated first round by Chinese Taeipe the eventual Gold medal winner in the 14-17 fly weight class.

Maccabiah USA Taekwondo team brought home Maccabiah USA Team brought home eight medals from the 2009 Maccabiah Games in Israel, which concluded on July 23. The Games, sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee and the World Federation of Sports, are an international event for Jewish athletes held every four years.

"I am very proud of all of them," said coach/athlete Marc Gitelman. "We did our best and had a great time representing the USA at these Games."

Team PST to attend
2011 Cross Training Exchange Camp III - Jan. 22nd & 23rd in Ohio.

To many athletes to name competed at the 2010 Stars and Stripes. This was a large regional tournament with over 300 competitors. Many PST athletes made this their first tournament and learned a lot about TKD competition.
1) it is a long day
2) bring plenty of food
3) prepare mom, dad, grandpa, grandma, for the long day.

September 18th was a busy day for PST Athletes as 14 competed in St. Louis, MO and 6 went to St. Paul, Minnesota.
