Bring the family! Join us for a Sunday afternoon "Taste of the Season" at Wickman's Garden Village in Springfield on November 21, 2010 from 1:00 to 4:00.

Sample delicious holiday fare offered by premier local caterers. Attend a wine tasting hosted by Wickman's Flower Shop ... featuring 7c's Winery of Walnut Grove, MO. Relax and refresh as you stroll thru all our festive shops.

Kids will be happy to see that the ponies are back and are sure to want a ride in the 'Cow Train'. Pony rides are $5.00, offered by Ridgefield Farms of Fair Grove, MO. All proceeds from the 'Cow Train' rides are donated to The Kitchen' in Springfield. It's really amazing how all those .50 cent rides add up ... we hope children enjoy the ride and are grateful for the generosity of all who willingly offer their support with nickles, dimes, quarters and dollars!

Batman, Robin and Trigger ... miniature ponies that have a big job. These little guys stay busy putting smiles on children's faces at many different events. You may have seen them at Wickman's Fall Festival or more recently at Christmas Open House. We're SO glad they'll be back for a "A Taste of the Season" on Sunday afternoon, November 21st.
Pony rides are a family business for Tara Carter and her parents. Churches, schools and children's parties really do keep them all going round and round, all year round!

All Aboard ... The 'Cow Train'!
Actually an old-fashioned 'barrel train', the individual barrels are outfitted to look like a line of colorful dairy cows following after the farmer! A .50 cent donation is requested for each ride, with all proceeds being donated by Wickman's to benefit the public service programs offered by The Kitchen in Springfield.
This barrel train is provided by GRIP in Verona, MO. GRIP - Group Residential Individualized Program - believes in building lives through teaching young people to self-evaluate their chosen behaviors and make positive changes. For nearly a decade, GRIP has provided therapeutic, vocational, educational, and recreational services as well as a loving home to boys in need.

GRIP runs the Verona Corn Maize each year. The Maize is a fundraiser for the group home and the boys are very active in preparing for the Maize, working at the Maize, and cleaning up when the season is over.
