The county seat of Polk County, Bolivar, Missouri, is located on Highway 13 less than 30 minutes North of Springfield, Missouri's third largest city. It is only about 2 hours to Kansas City, as well.
We have a population of more than 10,000 which provides a strong work-base. We are surrounded by recreational lakes, including Stockton Lake and Pomme De Terre Lake. Both are home to great fishing, beautiful scenery, and boating fun for the whole family. The area is also known for its great deer and turkey hunting.

The citizens of Bolivar are proud of our community and its heritage. Bolivar has great public and private schools as well as many great churches. We are home to Southwest Baptist University. Citizens Memorial Healthcare, which is one of Missouri's fastest growing hospitals, is also located in Bolivar.
