Welcome to the Park Crest Baptist Church online!
Are you ready? Believe it or not we areless than 2 weeks away from Thanksgiving mealsand before you know it, we will be waiting in lines for the perfect gift that we think they will enjoy. That is, if that is all this time of the year means to you.
Many years ago, 1789 to be exact, our nation's first President George Washington stated in a Thanksgiving Day proclamation speech...
"Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor - and Whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me "to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness."
It is great to know that we are not simply caring on an age old tradition but revisiting the Biblical foundation on which this country was established and built. We recognize and serve a sovereign, almighty God that has blessed us more than words can describe. I know that I am not speaking for the Nation as a whole, but I am for the Park Crest Baptistfamily. It is our privilege to regularly Thank the Lord for his goodness, mercy, love and forgiveness.
The Psalmist in chapter 100 verse 3 stated it this way, "Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture."
What a great time of the year. Come back hereor even join us this coming Sunday in the services. We will help keep you focused on the one that made this life and eternity in heaven possible.
