Our staff operates as a team and we take great pride in each staff members training and capabilities.
We want you to have the same confidence we do and to let them serve you fully.
Thank you for choosing our office to meet your dental health care needs. We are here to serve you!
Welcome! We are pleased you have selected us to provide your dental care and want to assure you that we will work hard to deserve your confidence and trust. We are a family dentistry practice, meaning we provide a variety of services to all ages. If we believe a problem justifies specialized care, we will refer you to the appropriate specialist. Our primary goal is to prevent dental disease. We provide restorative and aesthetic procedures when necessary so that you may enjoy good oral health.
Our office works on an appointment basis In an attempt to respect your time and ours, we make every effort to adhere to our schedule. You can help us by arriving on time for your appointment. As in all areas of medical care, unavoidable delays sometimes occur. We ask for your patience at those times. As a courtesy, our staff attempts to confirm appointments two days before the scheduled date and time. However, it is still your responsibility to keep your appointment even if we have not been able to contact you. If it is necessary for you to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we require 24-hour notification except in the case of an emergency. Managing our schedule is one way we can continue to offer quality care at an affordable price.
If you need a wheelchair-accessible room, please let us know when you make your appointment.
Good oral health habits and attitudes formed at a young age will carry over into adult life, so the best time to begin disease control is during childhood. For this reason we suggest you bring your child in for a first visit to the dentist at age three unless you suspect a problem sooner.
Each time you are in the office please inform the dental assistant of any change in your health history. It is imperative that our medical records are accurate. We assure you that we only take the necessary x-rays in order to perform a complete and comprehensive dental exam.
The most important part of dental treatment is preventing disease before it starts. Therefore, we place a special emphasis on the value of periodic cleanings, examinations, and fluoride treatments. As a service to our patients, we try to send a notice when it is time for you to return for routine care.
Please keep us informed of any changes in address, telephone number, marital status, employment, or insurance coverage. If you have not heard from us six months after prior treatment, please call our office.
We reserve limited time so patients can be seen on short notice. If you have a problem requiring emergency treatment, please call as early in the day as possible. If you have a dental emergency after hours, call the office and follow the instructions provided on the voicemail message or go to your nearest emergency care facility.
We have models, pictures, and literature explaining every aspect of dental health and we also have staff members specifically trained to educate youthe patientand help you understand your dental care options and the procedures discussed. People differ greatly in the amount of information they desire so please let us know if you have questions, would like to see examples of dental work completed, or would like some current medical/dental information to take with you.
As a courtesy to our patients and to expedite response time, our staff files all primary insurance electronically. Our front desk will provide its best estimate of co-payments, deductibles, and services not covered, which must be paid for at the time of service. Please note that insurance companies make frequent changes so we can only estimate what your company will pay.
Your care is extremely important to us, which is why we do not let insurance companies dictate how we practice dentistry. We focus on preventing dental disease and recommend the best available treatment options when a diagnosis is given. Your insurance is a contract between you and your insurance company, so we encourage all our patients to verify their coverage. We can help by providing you a printout of the treatment plan so you will have all the information you need when you call your company.
Payment is expected at the time services are rendered. We accept cash, check, MasterCard, and Visa. We do belong to CareCredit, which means you can charge your fees and make payments to the CareCredit company. They do have some no interest and low-interest optionsplease ask for more information if you are interested.
We must adhere to the above policies in order to continue to offer you excellent dental care at an affordable price.
Our practice continues to grow by referrals from our patients. Thank you for recommending us!
We will continue to strive to earn your confidence and trust.
Our office at 1200 North Cape Rock Drive was built in 1968 by a group of Christians who began Cape Bible Chapel here in Cape Girardeau. For fifteen years the structure served as their worship and fellowship area. It was only after their membership grew too large for the facility that Dr. Michael Bennett acquired the building and began the transformation into a dental office.
The narthex of the church now houses the reception room and business office, and the sanctuary serves as the patient treatment area. The feature renovation is a 30-foot skylight in the center of the building. Dr. Bennett wanted to leave intact as much of the original building as possible and although he donated some of the fixtures to other churches, he kept one pew as a constant reminder of the buildings original purpose.
The office was designed with patient comfort as the number one priority. We hope you will be as relaxed as possible in these unique surroundings.
