HISTORY In July, 1976, we opened our first health food store in Loves Park, Illinois, near Rockford. We started our second store in Independence, Missouri two years later. In 1981, we sold the store in Loves Park and moved to Independence.
We chose the name "Rainbow" because of the rainbow promise given in the scriptures. We feel that there is a promise of better health if we strive to be good stewards of our bodies (the temple of God's Holy Spirit).
Our purpose throughout the past 32 years has been to help people have healthier and happier lives. Our Rainbow Staff is very knowledgeable about nutrition. They have attended many health conventions and seminars. In addition, we offer free health magazines, literature, and samples. We also have many resource books for our customer's information. The Rainbow Staff is dedicated to serving customers in a kind and friendly atmosphere.
Our goal is to have only products that are manufactured by companies that have proven their integrity and honesty. We visit many of our suppliers in order to observe the quality of their operation. It is important to meet the people that run the companies from whom we purchase.
We definitely try to avoid carrying "fad" products as well as the questionable items that are offered in the health market today.
