50 Years and Counting
We have just finished our 50th year as a boat dealer serving the Kansas City area. Boat Dealers come and go, but Blue Springs Marine will always be here to handle all your boating needs. Blue Springs Marine is the oldest retailer in Blue Springs, and the oldest boat dealer in Western Missouri. We are in our 3rd generation of our family owned and operated boat dealership.

ARE YOU JOE?Meet average "Joe". Joe wants a new boat. He went to his local Marine Dealer and found lots of boats. He decided to shop on-line to find that "steal of a deal". Then Joe found a dealer a few hours away that had the same boats as his local dealer, but they had the "PERFECT BOAT" and cheaper. Joe decided to travel to see it in person & buy it before someone else did. He had to make a 2nd trip to pick it up but he didn't care because he had saved $$$$. He stopped at several discount places on the way home to buy all of his boating accessories. Half way thru the summer, Joe needed some service work done on his boat but didn't want spend time & money to drive a 3rd time to the dealer where he bought his boat from and they wouldn't send someone to him. Joe was frustrated so he called his local Marine Dealer, after all, they handle the same boats and engines. Joe was suprised to learn that his local Marine Dealer was booked out a solid 3-4 weeks for service. Now Joe is waiting and the summer is passing quickly.

Now meet "Jim". Jim wanted a new boat. He went to his local Marine Dealer, met a friendly knowledgable salesperson who worked hard to find him the "PERFECT BOAT" from a dealer who sold the same boats a few hours away. It's Winterization Time Again
Now is the time to make plans to winterize your boat and motor for the 2010 boating season. Proper Winterization of your boat is one of the most important maintenance practices you must do for the long-term protection of your boat. Each Spring we get almost one hundred calls telling us their boat ran fine last season and now it is not working. We ask them--"How did you winterize your boat?" EVERYTIME we are told, "well I kept it in a heated garage."
Winterization has absolutely nothing to do with where you stored your boat. The three main components that you are protecting for winterization can still fail in a heated environment. Gas today will start going bad in 30-45 days. The lake water that is inside your block will start rusting your internal engine parts, and your cylinder walls of your engine will rust just as quickly.
We hear every season, about how people have never winterized their boats. The rust in the cylinders and the block is long term problem. This is something that over 8 to 10 years will make your engine run hotter because of rust blockages, or thinning of the cylinder walls from the scraping of the rust off each season. This will all lead to engine failure.

We offer full winterization services in our service department or on the water. We also offer a free winterization class to show you the in's and out's of proper winterization. This class will be held October 16th, 2010.
