Mr. Morrey and his wife, Diane, have a son attending Missouri University of Science & Technology, two daughters who attend Truman State University and one daughter attending St. Joseph Christian High School. He presently serves on various local boards including the Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity and is a certified track coach. Since graduating from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in 1977, Joe has lived in St. Joseph and has been trying cases in northwest Missouri and the greater Kansas City area representing injured people and their families. Mr. Morrey has tried over 100 jury trials to verdict as an assistant prosecuting attorney, public defender, and private attorney. He maintains membership in the Missouri Bar Association, Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA), and the American Association for Justice (AAJ). Awarded one of the highest verdicts in Buchanan County history, $2.6 million dollars, in a medical malpractice case against a doctor for misdiagnosis and treatment of colon disease in a young man (reduced to $667,300 after appeal, remand and retrial).

Achieved a $7+ million dollar settlement as co-counsel in a Jackson County trial for wrongful death of 18-year-old young man killed when a fully loaded, speeding semi-tractor trailer overturned on his vehicle trapping him inside as he burned to death.
