Valentines has launched a new fall menu withnew menu items that are heart healthy and full of flavor. We have also enhanced our free bread service with a fresh seven grain and garlic herb bread along with our Valentines signature Italian herb blend and olive oil for our guests to dip their bread. Our Chef Kirk Bright has been developing new specials daily to keep our menu on the cutting edge while still offering comfort foods that will please any palate.
Valentine's offers an enticing menu full of popular house specialties, irresistible desserts, and a large selection of wines, beer & liquors. The "made from scratch" kitchen replicates a range of menu choices that keep diners coming back for more. We want our guests to experiment with all we have to offer so we give them lots of choices-from how their selection is prepared to a rotating medley of specials posted daily on special board.
First I would like to say that the last few years have been challenging in the restaurant business. I have learned to reduce cost and overhead to compensate for the lack of sales. This has been a good exercise in looking at every aspect of my restaurant and profitability statement. I have made reductions in services that were not necessary or service that could be handled in-house my either myself or a staff member. We have not laid off any employees due to the hard times and have no plans in the future for such drastic measures. I am proud to say that we have retained 90% of the same vendors over the past 8 years. I believe that loyalty from vendors, guests is important to any businesses success. Below is a list of vendors that have supported Valentines over the years.
US Food Service, is our main food provider and have provided great customer service and products consistently over the years. We have strict quality standard on products and they have always provided the highest quality ingredients, timely deliveries at a reasonable price. Our sales representative John Gray has proven to be a valuable resource in menu development and keeping our menu on the cutting edge.
Rice Equipment, Rick and Jackie Rice, have provided equipment repairs and maintenance for the past 7 years and there service response and quality of repair is unmatched in the industry. They have provided small repairs at a very reasonable price and large catastrophic repairs that have been competitive and timely.
Fellers Fixtures, Carl and Sally Fellers, have provided the design of the restaurant and all major kitchen equipment, small utensils and supplies for our daily operations. They have a large inventory of all restaurant equipment and supplies for the expert and home connoisseur.
This is to name only a few vendors, there are many more vendors that provide quality service and products over the years but I wanted to single out a few that have gone up and beyond to help my restaurant succeed over the years.
The success of any business is to foster close relationships with the public and vendors. In troubled times you find out quickly who your friends are, and who wants you to succeed, and these vendors have provided years of loyalty and support and I am grateful for the relationships that have developed and will develop in the future.
Valentine's Restaurant opened it's doors on April 29, 2002 and is now celebrating 8 years in business. I have to be thankful for the great staff that has helped me develop the menu and concept over the years and the great regular guests that come in day after day. With out all the support of Springfield my dream would of not happened. It has been a life long dream to have my own restaurant and to bring my love of food and the joy of pleasing people. The guest feedback that I receive over the years has contributed to my success in the development of new and innovative menu items and the improvements that I have made to the restaurant over the years. I am forever indebt to the regular guests that patronize the restaurant on a regular basis and are here during these difficult economic times. I have always strived to be the best in my industry and have fostered that in my staff.
