Ask the attorney about his trial experience, how long he has been practicing law, what emphasis he has placed on the area of law in which you have a problem, his plan for handling your case, his assessment of the probability of obtaining your goals, how his legal fee will be set, the size of the retainer he requires (and what hourly rate he will charge if he is to set his fee on an hourly basis).

After meeting with the lawyer, you should be able to assess his sincerity and interest in your case.
