The Kansas City Free Health Clinic is an integral part, the net under the safety net, of the health care delivery system in the Kansas City community. As it was formed to do in 1971, the Clinic provides basic health care services at no charge to people who cannot pay for care and to those who do not have insurance available to them. The Clinic helps keep the uninsured and underinsured healthy!
Tuesday night BINGO at Hamburger Mary's, 101 SW Boulevard. 8:00 - 10:00 pm. Eat, drink, play bingo and raise money for the Clinic. It is not your normal Tuesday, it's Bingo at Hamburger Mary's. For more information, contact joeb@kcfree.org
Domestic Violence Awareness Month
In support of Domestic Violence Awareness, we are engaging in an art activity to honor those impacted by violent partner relationships. We will decorate quilt squares in remembrance of those harmed or killed by a violent partner. You may also decorate a quilt square for someone who survived domestic violence or make a square to promote peaceful and healthy relationships. Later we will sew the squares together to make a quilt for display. Two Mondays in October , October 11th & 25th, 3-5pm. For more information contact, Griseldaw@kcfree.org.
CHAMBER ANNOUNCES 2012 CENTURIONS CLASS
A total of 38 Kansas Citians received great news last week they were accepted into the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce Centurions Leadership Program. Centurions is an intensive, two-year leadership development program focused on preparing greater Kansas Citys future leaders.

Today (Tuesday, July 13, 2010) on the walt bodine show, Elana Gordon interviewed one of the Clinic YAC (Youth Advisory Committee) members, Selchia Cain. Selchia did a fabulous job speaking about teens and health issues. She even talked about KC FREE. KCUR has show archives available on their website. ROYALS STAFF VISIT CLINIC

KCBEERFEST IN WESTPORT. It was a sunny and happy, very happy day in Westport Saturday when 2400 people gathered to sample microbrews and support the Clinic and the Aids Service Foundation. The Westport merchants were great to work with, tickets were sold out by mid afternoon, and, except for running out of some kinds of brews, it was a great day. Hats off to Mother's Luncheon
On Tuesday, May 11, 2010, the 7th Annual "Hats off to Mothers" Luncheon was held at The Hyatt Regency Crown Center. This year the United Cerebral Palsy Association of GKC honored eight, including Clinic ED Sheri Wood, mothers from the Greater Kansas City area. Each of these women have made significant contributions to their families and our community and we are proud to honor them.

March 28 - 9:50 am Sunday, KCTV-5. Clinic volunteer Dan McMillan and his brother Sam appeared on the morning news show on Kansas City KCTV-5. Dan volunteers as a CATS counselor two evenings a month. Dan and Sam finished second in last fall's The Amazing Race.
March 23 - 2010-2011 Board of Directors Roster. As the Clinic begins its new fiscal year on April, 1, the following changes will be made on the Board of Directors. Clinic all over local news -- Check out the videos from Friday night, February 26, and Monday night, March 1. KSHB, NBC Channel 41 presented a segment about Missouri being nearly dead last in public health funding. For the feature, Sheri Wood and a patient were interviewed. KMBC, ABC Channel 9's , Jana Corrie interviewed Sheri Wood, Dr. Craig Dietz, and two Clinic patients to present a feature on the growing number of people needing Clinic Services.

Clinic that provided medical care to 2233 people in Kansas City in December. Sheri was presented a proclamation.
