Lets do a quick thought experiment. Get a piece of paper and pen. Write for
three minutes (yes, please time yourself) while answering the open-ended
question, What do I want?
When finished read this note to yourself, flip the piece of paper over, and now
write for five minutes while reflecting on and answering the question, Between
now and my last breath on earth, what are the things I really want?

October 30th, St. Louis: ACAM and ACAM-STL, together with Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, are again this Fall offering a day of Continuing Education Seminars at MBU. This year the date is October 30th. The morning speaker will be Dr. Charles E. Stikes, PhD, LPC, Professor of Psychology and Sociology at Missouri Baptist. His topic for this event is Assessment and Diagnosis.
The afternoon presenter will be Dr. Tricia K. Brown, PhD, LCPC, RPT-S, of MidAmerica Nazarene University. Dr. Brown teaches and supervises in the Play Therapy Certification Program at MNU, and is Director of the Marriage, Couples, and Family track in the Counselor Education Program. Her presentation will focus on Play Therapy.
The American Counseling Association of Missouri (ACAM) is an organization of counseling professionals who work in diverse settings, including schools, hospitals, residential care facilities, community mental health agencies, the military, government, business and industry, and private practice.
ACAM counselors have a wide variety of specialties, include marriage and family therapy, clinical mental health, substance abuse, school and college counseling, disability and vocational rehabilitation, career development, trauma and grief counseling, geriatric and pediatric counseling, business and personal coaching, psychotherapy for personal growth, as well as other specialties.
ACAM is a state branch of The American Counseling Association, www.counseling.org. It was founded as the Missouri Personnel and Guidance Association (MPGA) in 1969, and after several intermediate name changes, in 1996 became The American Counseling Association of Missouri, emphasizing its connection with ACA.
