Clean silver in seconds - add 1 tablespoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of water softener to each quart of hot water from your kitchen sink. Mix until it dissolves, then add a sheet of Foil in the water. Rest a piece of silverware on top of the Foil, and move the item around in the water. It will change right before your eyes.

Jewelry cleaner: In an aluminum pie plate, combine 1 tbsp. washing soda (Arm & Hammer makes this), 1 tbsp. salt and 1 qt. boiling water. Dip the jewelry in the mixture and it will clean instantly. (***NOTE: This should be used for hard jewelry like gold, silver, diamonds and sapphires. Use only toothpaste or rubbing alcohol on soft gems like emeralds. Olive oil should be used to clean pearls.)
