Alderman approved a bill requested by the Downtown Branson Main Street Association to modify the hourly parking limits for a portion of public parking downtown. Currently all parking downtown, on the street and in public lots, has a two-hour limit. The new bill will put a three hour parking limit on two parking lots only – the Pacific Street lot and the Awberry lot behind Dick’s 5 & 10. All on-street parking will remain a two-hour limit. Some downtown businesses like theaters, restaurants and hair salons had difficulties with the two hour limit because some customers would spend more than that in their establishments.
