Are you feeling “stuck,” unable to move forward with your life?
Is depression, anxiety, or anger affecting you at home, school, or work?
When you think about yourself, are your thoughts usually negative?
I’d like to help. I am a licensed clinical social worker providing counseling services in Columbia, Missouri. I help my clients achieve greater fulfillment in their personal, social, and professional lives, with the support of customized counseling sessions. In my experience, everyone has the ability to make changes and move forward. With the right help, you can, too.
I’m glad that you’ve chosen to visit my website. Please explore it to learn more about my services and how counseling can make a difference. If you would like more information, or if you feel ready to move forward, please contact me.
If you feel reluctant to seek counseling, you’re not alone. Some people prefer to try and “tough it out” on their own. Others believe their problem isn’t “bad enough” to require counseling. Asking for help is often the hardest step. Feeling better makes it worthwhile.
Free Consultation. An alternative to starting counseling right away is a consultation. This is a one-time meeting or phone call, lasting 20-30 minutes, in which I gather information about what you are experiencing and any changes you would like to make. I then offer my impressions and recommendations on how we might proceed in counseling. There is no charge for this service. A consultation might help you feel more secure in your decision about whether or not to pursue counseling. If you are interested in a consultation, please let me know at the time of scheduling your first appointment.
Thanks for visiting my website. I wish you all the best.
Podcast
Listen to a podcast of me being interviewed about cognitive-behavioral therapy. This hour-long program originally aired on KOPN 89.5 fm in May 2009. Topics discussed include how CBT works, automatic thoughts, mindfulness, medication vs. talk therapy, and similarities and differences between various types of mental health professionals (licensed clinical social workers, psychologists and psychiatrists).
